The role
Shaka Wear needs an on-site editor in Los Angeles for its long-form YouTube podcasts and 10–20 minute business and lifestyle vlogs. You'll shape pacing, retention and cinematic moments with the YouTube algorithm in mind.
What you'll do
- Edit long-form podcast episodes of 45–90 minutes
- Cut 10–20 minute lifestyle and business vlogs
- Tighten pacing, cut dead space and protect viewer retention
- Add B-roll, motion graphics, captions, zooms, sound effects and music
- Color correct, mix audio and deliver videos optimized for YouTube
What they're looking for
Must-haves
- Strong experience editing YouTube podcasts and vlogs
- Proficiency in Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro or DaVinci Resolve
- Basic motion graphics skills
- Storytelling instincts, in the style of Full Send, Nelke or Impulsive
- Reliable communication and fast turnaround
Nice to have
- After Effects, thumbnail design and Shorts/Reels editing
- Understanding of YouTube analytics and retention strategies
- Suggesting creative improvements, not just following instructions
