The role
You'll be the district's in-house storyteller, producing video, photography, social and written content, and maintaining the website. You'll work closely with the Superintendent and visit schools and events regularly.
What you'll do
- Find and produce stories about students, staff, schools and programs
- Shoot, edit and publish short- and long-form video, including on-camera interviews
- Photograph classrooms, events and facilities, and manage the media library
- Build a district content calendar and create social posts, graphics and copy
- Maintain and update the district website
What they're looking for
Must-haves
- Portfolio or work samples showing several content types, such as video, photo or social
- Proven video recording and editing, and photography and photo editing skills
- Experience creating social media content and telling stories for digital audiences
- Flexible schedule with occasional evenings and weekends, and travel between district sites
- Pennsylvania public school clearances, including criminal history and child abuse checks
Nice to have
- Experience with interview-based, documentary-style or human-interest content
- Adobe Premiere Pro, Photoshop, After Effects, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve or Canva
- Knowledge of accessibility practices for digital and multimedia content
